7:15 -Wake up after getting very little sleep,
because of the upcoming release day excitement & squint at the phone.
Usually I loathe mornings, but not today, because it’s release
day! Awesome bloggers, author friends, & readers have tweeted or sent
me messages. Bloggers, author friends, & readers rock!

7:30 – Get kids ready for school, because the rest of the world doesn’t
realize this should be a magical vacation day from life. Oh crap, life is
making me late getting my kids ready for school. It can’t be me. I’m almost
always on time. Okay, change the “almost always” for mostly on time once in a
while & that’s more like the truth.

while & that’s more like the truth.
8:00 – Get on the treadmill & almost fall off responding to tweets
& people & okay, maybe checking out my book again—just once more. Then
I’ll totally forget about it the rest of the day *dies laughing*

9:00 – Kids are at school. Time to make breakfast.
9:15 – Eat the eggs I burned because I was reading tweets &
scrolling through Facebook. (This is no different than a usual day in my life,
FYI)

9:30 – To shower, or not to shower. I mean, I’ll get there eventually.
Okay, maybe I’ll shower. That way I can go out to dinner later.

10:00 – Slip & check on my book once again.
10:30 – Get tea & water so I can sit down at my desk & write.
10:35 – 2:00 Do everything else besides writing. Pinterest has awesome
pictures. And that was research, so it was working, really. People are funny on
Twitter today, too. This song rocks! I better dance to it.

Ooh, I’m starving! I missed lunch, duh!
2:15 – Eat a PB&J, because I’m a glamorous adult author who knows
how to party. Top it off with a Diet Mtn Dew, because mmm. Plus it’ll help me
focus on writing.

2:30 – Check on my book—last time today, for sure.
2:35 – Better work on the next project so I have another release day in
the future. Start typing.
the future. Start typing.
4:00 – Now that the kids are home, it’s time to answer all the questions
they must’ve been saving up all day, because they come rapid-fire style, one
going into the next, all of them talking over one another. Answer between
thinking that I got very little done today, but smile when the kids remember
it’s my release day & get super excited. The soda they’ll consume shortly
will be a wise decision that I won’t regret at all when they’re bouncing off
the walls.

5:00 – Check on my book—I’m going to go out to dinner, so it’s okay. I
won’t be able to check it at dinner. It’s not like I have a phone that will
pull it up with a simple touch or anything.

5:30 – Respond to awesome tweets & posts & get the glare from
the family because I’m not mentally present at my celebration & I have a
phone addiction problem.

6:30 – Waddle out of the restaurant because I ate too much. Wonder if
I’m really glamorous, then feel silly, because of course I am. And while my
hubby is driving, I can look at my phone again. Not to see how my book’s doing,
but to…Okay, it’s to see how my book is doing.

7:00- Eat cake to celebrate, even though I was already full. Yep. This is the glamorous life.
8:00 – Watch TV while occasionally tweeting, posting, and general phone
searching. Think about how I really better get more work done tomorrow. Maybe I’ll
go to bed early.

12:30 – Well, this is kind of early. Guess I better go to bed.
And that’s pretty much it, with some up and down mood swings in between.
Kind of crazy, but always hectic and fun, and when it comes down to it, I feel
super lucky that I get to do a job I love so much, as well as feel grateful for
all of my readers, family, friends, and all the people I’ve met through this
awesome job.
