Top 5 YA retellings
- Cinder & Ella by Kelly Oram (Cinderella, obvs!) I love this tell of Cinder and Ella. It made me laugh, made me feel all the feels, and left me with a huge grin!
- Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin – This Edgar Allen Poe retelling is creepy beautiful. The steampunk world is such a great backdrop, too.
- Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay – This has the twist of Juliet and Romeo being immortal beings. It kept me intrigued from the very beginning
- Between the Lines by Tamara Webber. This is a bit of a spin on Pride & Prejudice, and the actors are filming a retelling (A bit of Inception retelling for you J) I picked up this book when I was in the middle of a reading slump, and it got me right out of it. I’ve been a huge fan of Tamara ever since!
- Cinder by Marissa Mayer. I’m also a sucker for a Cinderella retelling (Not only do I have two of them on my list, I wrote one.) This was a super unique twist, with a super cool heroine and one charming prince.Top 5 YA retellingsMy Frankenstein retelling ALL THE BROKEN PIECES is on sale for just $.99 for the rest of the week.
