Blog Hop Q&A

According to the rules of the hop, I will be answering some questions (the same ones for every other blog hopper) about either my newest release or my WIP and then at the bottom of the post I’ll list the author who will do the same thing in their blogs next Wednesday, Feb. 27th.

What is the working title of your book/story/whatever?
Falling for Her Fiancé

Where did the idea come from for the book?
My editor was reading Cinderella Screwed Me Over (which will be out in October 2013) she said I think you’d be good at writing for this new line I’m starting at Entangled Publishing called the Bliss Line. Basically it’s sassy sweet romance. I said I’d love to write one. She and her assistant were on twitter talking about tropes they wanted. My editor said she loved friends to lovers & her assistant said she wanted to read a fake engagement. And I thought, what if I had friends who faked an engagement. That night I couldn’t fall asleep because I started thinking of that story and I knew I had to write it as soon as possible. A few weeks later, I started writing and having a ridiculous amount of fun with the story.

What genre does your book fall under? Contemporary romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
When I wrote Wes, I had Bradley Cooper in mind. I first fell in love with his character Will Tippin in Alias (sigh!) As for Dani, I had to look around a bit, but I think Christina Milian looks the closest to what I had in my mind.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Two best friends fake an engagement and start reconsidering their just friends stance.

What is the longer synopsis of your book?

Danielle and Wes have been best friends since college, so when Wes needs a date for his sister’s wedding and Dani needs a partner for her company’s retreat, they devise the perfect plan: a fake engagement to get through both events unscathed. Adrenaline-junkie Wes can prove to both his ex and his family that he’s well and truly moved on, and serious-minded Dani can prove to her boss that she’s worthy of the promotion he seems to only want to give to a family-oriented employee.

But amid the fake swoons, fake kisses, and forced proximity, neither expects the very real feelings that develop. There’s nothing more dangerous than falling for your best friend…but what if the landing is worth the fall?

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
My book is published by Entangled Publishing

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
About a month.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
(Pretty much answered that with how I got the idea)

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Well, there’s a funny mechanical bull-riding scene

Next Wednesday check out Ophelia London’s blog to find out what inspired her writing. http://www.ophelialondon.com/
